Your Community Handyman

You may know the brains and brawn behind Estes Home Improvements, Thomas Estes, from his days in Radford, VA where he grew up and apprenticed with his father, a local carpenter. Thomas credits his skills and knowledge of all things home improvement to long days at the job site with his father.

Though Radford will always be home, Thomas felt the call to serve his country and from there, joined the United States Marine Corps where he served in the infantry for 10 years. While in the Marine Corps, he met the love of his life (the true brains behind Estes Home Improvements), and they started a family together. After his honorable discharge from the military, he moved to Williamsburg and became a certified law enforcement officer. He was hired with the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office and served York County for 6 years on patrol as well as a school resource officer.

Thomas has always felt the call to serve others and he continues this calling as a small business owner and your community handyman. When asked what he wants to accomplish for his clients, he simply responds with “making things or fixing things so that others are happy” which is why the motto of Estes Home Improvements is “building joy.” Throughout all the seasons of Thomas’s life, the call to help others has remained constant.
